Schwans is a delivery service that delivers food to your doorstep in bulk type orders.  They have really good food.  The best part is you don't have to go out to get your low-sodium food to cook.  Their catalogs are awesome because for each item it indicates not only the description and price, but also a lot of other nutritional information...INCLUDING the Sodium content of each of their products.  It is great to have the information right in front of you when you are "shopping", it is definitely a whole lot easier than having to check every single label in the whole grocery store. :)  If you live in an area where they deliver, it is not a bad idea to check them out. :)

Welcome!

     I was diagnosed with Postpartum Cardiomyopathy April 1st and have had my world turn upside down ever since.  I have had to adjust my diet and eating habits to make sure that I stay as healthy as I can so I am able to take care of my newborn son, Evan.  It has definitely been a learning experience for my husband and I.  We have had to completely revamp the way we shop and cook. This blog is dedicated to anyone who is on a cardiac-type diet who is tired of eating the same old things, or is bored with the way things taste.  I am by no means an expert cook or dietitian but I am an expert experimenter in the kitchen.  My plan is to try out new recipes and post them as well as their outcomes here.  I will attempt to do the dirty work and find out what works and what doesn't.  Feel free to comment and take any recipes and try them out for yourself.  Happy reading, and happy cooking. :)
